2025 Highland Games Cancelled

Dear Members and Guests of the SDSHG & Gathering of Clans,

It is with deep disappointment that the Board of the San Diego Scottish Highland Games, Inc. announces the cancellation of the 2025 Games, which were to be held in Vista, CA.

This difficult decision comes as a result of sudden and significant cost increases associated with securing our previous venue. These unforeseen expenses have made it financially unfeasible to proceed with hosting the Games in Vista this year.

We understand this news is disappointing, and we share your disappointment. The Board has already begun actively exploring alternative venue options for the Games to return in 2026 and beyond. We are committed to finding a suitable location that will allow us to continue this beloved tradition. We are especially excited to celebrate our 50th anniversary games in 2026 and look forward to welcoming friends old and new to that milestone event.

While we cannot hold the full Games this year, we are determined to maintain the spirit of the event and our commitment to supporting the Scottish arts. The Board currently plans to continue sponsoring the some competitions usually held at the Games, such as solo piping, drumming, and Highland Dancing. This will allow us to supporting these important artistic disciplines.

Stay tuned for details regarding social events we are planning in lieu of a full Games. We will share information about these events as soon as they are finalized.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the San Diego Scottish Highland Games. We look forward to seeing you at our future events.

Sincerely,

The Board of SDSHG, Inc.
