Mountain Thyme was started by an entrepreneurial wife and mother, Natalie McMeeken, in
the mountains of sunny SoCal. A music major and singer with an eye for design and a love for
Scottish and Celtic culture, she decided to take her hobby of drawing Celtic knots to the next
level. She has been attending the San Diego Scottish Highland Games since she was a child, and
was lucky enough to marry a piper and fellow SDSHG attendee, so now it’s a family affair!

Mountain Thyme is a reference not only to her family’s mountain home, but to a well known
Scottish song, “Wild Mountain Thyme”often heard sung at the Games. Thyme is also the herb
that symbolizes courage, meaningful to her family as her husband is a cancer survivor.
Many of the designs at Mountain Thyme are hand drawn by Natalie, and then scanned into the
computer and digitized. They look hand-drawn because they are, following in the rich traditions
of Celtic artwork for centuries.

You won’t find any one of her exclusive designs anywhere else!
Inspiration for her designs is drawn from her family’s love of Scottish and Celtic art, music,
language and culture, their own travel to Scotland, their Celtic heritage, her two young sons,
experience piping and drumming in their local pipe band, and long attendance at the San Diego
Scottish Highland Games. She hopes her designs will bring joy, inspiration, and humor to your
lives, and let you “express your Inner Celt”. Keep an eye on their expanding product line! It’s
Scottish. It’s Celtic. It’s Mountain Thyme!
