  • No Pets are allowed in Brengle Terrace Park.
  • No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the park. Beer will be available for sale, in designated areas.
    All coolers will be examined at the gate.

Dancing will be inside the gymnasium next to the main gate.

NO WAGONS, LAWN CHAIRS OR TENTS
ALLOWED INSIDE THE BUILDING.

TICKETS

The “Main Gate” (near the gymnasium) opens at 8:00am for all on-the-day ticket purchases. It is suggested parents PRE-PURCHASE their tickets here.
Please note: Every dancer will receive a ticket in the mail, upon completion of registering.
Online ticket sales close mid-June.

Awards & Rules

Special Premier Awards
The following cash awards will be given in lieu of medals for Premier categories ages 16 years and over:

16 & Over:

1st $50, 2nd $40, 3rd $30, 4th $20, 5th $15, 6th $10

Margo Naismith Memorial Sword Dance

-To qualify, dancers must place 1st or 2nd in the Sword Dance in their respective Premier age group and be under 16 years old.

-Qualifiers will dance a Sword (2&1)

House of Scotland Sword Dance

-To qualify, dancers must place 1st , 2nd, or 3rd in the Sword Dance in their
respective Premier age group and be 16 years or older.

-Qualifiers will dance a Sword (2&1)

Sailor’s Hornpipe Award

-To qualify, dancers must place 1st in the Hornpipe in their respective
Premier age group.

-Qualifiers will dance a Hornpipe (4)

Special Pre-Premier Scholarships

A “Judge’s Honorable Mention” scholarship will be awarded to:

one Beginner (Sponsor: Macleod Pacific Region),

one Novice (Sponsor: Macleod Pacific Region), and

one Intermediate (Sponsor: SDSHG).

Dancing Rules

1. The competition is governed by SOBHD and ScotDance USA rules.

2. All dancers must be registered with ScotDance USA, ScotDance or SOBHD Worldwide, and present their 2020 registration card on the day of competition. Registration Number MUST be on Entry Form.

3. Dancers who are registered for 2020, but do not have their valid card with them, may dance. However, any awards won will be held as per ScotDance USA rules.

4. Age groups will be determined after entries are received.

5. Organizer reserves the right to split or combine classes the day of the competition.

6. Last to enter, first to dance rules apply.

7. The organizer reserves the right to make changes to any information and times given in the entry form if necessary.

8. Communication by a dancer or parent of a dancer with the judge or piper is not allowed and is grounds for disqualification.

9. Pre-Premier category changes must be made by June 20, 2020.

10. Dancers not on hand when their class is called will forfeit entry on that event.

11. All winners must be in competition dress to accept
awards.

12. All dance competitors and teachers are expected to
comply with the SOBHD & ScotDance USA Code of Ethics.

13. Entry fee includes admission to the games. Dancer’s admission ticket will be emailed.

14. Competition numbers will be picked up at dancer
registration on the day of competition.

15. Entries must be SUBMITTED by June 1, 2020. Late entries will be accepted with DOUBLE FEES.

16. Judge’s decision is final. Any protest must be in writing, signed, and handed to the Dance Director by the end of the competition, accompanied by a fee of $30.00 that would be refundable if the protest is sustained.

*The Robert Lyall Lowe Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the
winner of the memorial fling who completes the dance
successfully and is placed first by the judge. Dancer must be a
California dancer under 7 years old.
