50th Anniversary Sweepstakes – Official Rules & Terms

1. Sponsor

This sweepstakes is sponsored by the San Diego Scottish Highland Games (“Sponsor”).

2. No Purchase Necessary

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning.

3. Eligibility

• Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

• The individual entering the sweepstakes must be 18 or older; any travel guest accompanying the winner is not required to be 18.

• Void where prohibited by law.

4. Sweepstakes Period

Entries must be submitted during the official event period.

All winners will be selected via random drawing at 6:00 PM on June 21, 2026.

5. How to Enter

Participants may enter through designated sweepstakes methods, including but not limited to:

• Onsite participation activities

• QR code check-ins and code entries

• Social media engagement actions

• Email submission

All entries must remain valid through the duration of the contest.

For example, if an entry is earned by following a social media account, the participant must remain a follower through the end of the sweepstakes period.

A valid email address is required for entry and will be used to contact winners.

6. Prize Descriptions

Grand Prize

• One (1) trip for two (2) to Glasgow, Scotland, UK

• Duration: 5 days / 4 nights

• Includes:

  • Round-trip airfare departing from and returning to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

  • Hotel accommodations (location coordinated with Sponsor)

  • $500 USD spending money (provided as a Visa gift card)

Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $3,500 USD

Additional Prizes

Additional prizes of lesser value may be awarded and may be provided by Sponsor or participating partners.

All prizes are awarded “as is” and are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.

7. Travel Terms – Grand Prize

• Travel must be booked by August 1, 2026

• Travel must occur between January–February 2027

• Departure must be on a Saturday, Sunday, or Wednesday, with return five (5) days later

• All travel arrangements will be coordinated and booked by the Sponsor

Important Conditions:

• Winner and guest are responsible for transportation to/from LAX

• Winner is responsible for all additional expenses not explicitly included, including but not limited to:

  • Food and beverages

  • Activities and excursions

  • Taxes, fees, and incidental costs

• Travelers must possess valid passports and any required visas, vaccinations, or travel documents at their own expense

8. Winner Selection & Notification

• Winners will be selected at random

• Winners will be contacted via the email address provided

Sponsor will make a maximum of two (2) attempts to contact each winner.

• If a winner does not respond by June 26, 2026, a new winner will be selected

• If the backup winner does not respond by July 3, 2026, the prize will be forfeited and no alternate winner will be selected

9. Prize Acceptance & Forfeiture

• If the selected grand prize winner declines or is unable to travel prior to booking, they will be offered an alternate prize of lesser value, and a new grand prize winner will be selected

• If the winner confirms and books travel but later cancels or cannot attend, the prize will be forfeited with no rescheduling permitted

• Any unused travel credits or bookings will revert to the Sponsor

10. General Conditions

• Sponsor reserves the right to substitute or modify any prize at any time for one of equal or greater value

• Prize images used in promotional materials are for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect actual prize details

• Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be tampering with the entry process or violating these rules

11. Limitation of Liability

By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor and its affiliates, partners, and representatives from any liability, loss, or damage arising from participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance/use of any prize.

12. Publicity Release

By accepting a prize, winners grant the Sponsor permission to use their name, likeness, and city/state of residence for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

13. Odds of Winning

Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

14. Social Media Disclaimer

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media platform. By participating, entrants agree to release such platforms from any responsibility related to this sweepstakes.

15. Governing Law

This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of California.
